I’m Paul.
I’m a freelance senior creative copywriter with 8 years of experience. I’ve worked client-side and I’ve worked in agencies, and both are brilliant – although advertising agencies have better drinks trolleys and crisps on Fridays. I’m a northerner and those things matter to my people.
I’ve wanted to be a writer since I watched the first Superman film when I was 5-years-old. Who wouldn’t be inspired by a chain-smoking, juice-drinking and Pulitzer Prize-winning Lois Lane? She was iconic.
You’re probably wondering about my website name. My dad used to call me an odd kid when I was little and it’s probably the best description of me I’ve ever heard. It’s the least profane anyway. When I started freelancing, it felt right to go with it.
I love writing. I love being a writer. Whether I’m writing copy for an ad, a brochure, a tweet or a website, I’m always passionate about the work. Everything I write helps me to be better – even my angry tweets about Trump at 3am.
I work hard, but you can always count on me for banter, good chat and memes – especially when deadlines are approaching and people are on the verge of tears. I’m good to have around when the pressure is on. Oh, and I once caused an international incident for One Direction and The Who.
If you’d like to talk about a project or go for a coffee, get in touch.
P.S. I also have two cute Yorkshire terriers. If you can guess their names, I’ll buy you a coffee. (You’ll never guess their names.)
